Our version of an obscure style, this rye wine-style ale underwent a step mash to draw out all the delicate flavors & fermentables.
Rye malt is known for it’s stubbornness on the brewhouse so by using advanced techniques and alternate temperatures, we chalked up some new tricks when the day was done.
Southern Cross hops provide a layered citrus & added spicy note to the beer. Then we wanted to add another “power” to the beer and aged it in J. Carver Rye Whiskey barrels for 9 months.
The finished product is dry & spicy with deep notes of oak, vanilla and layered multigrain flavors that carry through the finish. Try one and learn with us!
